TISGraw Downloading and installing

At the time of development, several Java environments and implementations existed. Most are supported with a dedicated version.

Complete version for Java

Prerequisites

Operating System: any computer operating system equipped with a Java runtime environment.

Java environment: at least version 1.3.1 of the Java Runtime Environment, Standard Edition must be installed on the computer. If this environment is not installed you can find more information and a download link on Sun's Java website.

Palm PDA and compatibles

Prerequisites

PalmOS: at least version 3.3 of PalmOS must be installed on your PDA.

Java MIDP for Palm at least version 1.03 of this product must be installed on your PDA. If this environment is not installed you can find more information and a download link on Sun's Java website.  Install the latest version of the MIDP for Palm OS 1.0 software prior to continuing with TISGraw.  The download also contains some sample applications for Palm showing a number of features of the J2ME and MIDP platform.

How to install

  1. Copy the downloaded zip file to a location on your hard drive or wherever you choose to store your downloaded files.
  2. Extract tisgrawme.prc from the downloaded zip file.
  3. Store this file in the location where you choose to store your Palm applications, typically C:\Program Files\Palm\Add-on.
  4. Using the Ms Windows Explorer
    Double click on the .prc file.
    When prompted choose the correct Palm profile (each profile corresponds with a different Palm device).
    Close the Palm Install Tool.
    Or
    Using the Palm Install Tool:
    Choose Add in the main install window.
    Locate and select the tisgrawme.prc file.
    Close the Install Tool.
  5. Synchronize your Palm device with your desktop computer.  This will finally install the application on your Palm device.
  6. TISGraw Mobile Edition will be installed in the Untitled category.

Nokia mobile phones

Prerequisites

  1. Your phone must be equipped with a Java interpreter.
    Some examples: 6310i, 7650, ... to find a complete list surf to Nokia's web site.
  2. Install the Nokia PC Suite including the Nokia Application Installer

How to install

  1. Copy the downloaded zip file to a location on your hard drive or wherever you choose to store your downloaded files.
  2. Extract tisgrawme.jad and tisgrawme.jar from the downloaded zip file.
  3. Store these files in the location where you choose to store your Java applications for your phone.
  4. Start the Nokia Application Installer
  5. Choose a communication method (Bluetooth, infrared or serial cable) and select tisgrawme.jar.
  6. The installer will now send the application to your phone.
  7. TISGraw Mobile Edition will be installed in the applications folder.

Ericsson mobile phones

Prerequisites

  1. Your phone must be equipped with a Java interpreter.
    Some examples: T610, P800, ... to find a complete list surf to Ericsson's web site.
  2. The phone must accept Java applications of at least 30 Kbytes.

Latest version: TISGraw Mobile Edition for Ericsson 1.5

Download for installation via a desktop.

Over the Air if your phone and mobile operator allow downloading and installing applications "over the air".

How to install using the zip File

  1. Copy the downloaded zip file to a location on your hard drive or wherever you choose to store your downloaded files.
  2. Extract tisgrawme.jad and tisgrawme.jar from the downloaded zip file.
  3. Store these files in the location where you choose to store your Java applications for your phone.
  4. If your PC is equipped with an infrared port, beam the files to your phone using infrared.  Alternatively you can use a Bluetooth or cable connection to transfer both files to your phone.
  5. The location of TISGraw Mobile Edition on your phone depends on the model and make of your phone.

How to install "Over the Air"

  1. Select the "Over the Air" hyperlink
  2. Follow the instructions as per your handset model.
